M. Damodaran, Chairperson of Excellence Enablers, is widely acknowledged as one of India’s foremost champions of Corporate Governance. He is presently an independent consultant and corporate advisor, coach, and mentor and sits on the Boards of several reputed companies. He is the founder Chairman of IIM Tiruchirappalli.

A member of IAS, he has held several important positions in Central and State Governments and in India’s Financial Sector. He was Chief Secretary of Tripura. He worked as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, dealing with the Government’s own functions of Public Sector Banks and being its interface with RBI. He was appointed Chairman of UTI where he successfully rescued India’s largest investment institution which had collapsed. He simultaneously took over as head of IDBI, which too he restructured and merged with another commercial bank. As Chairman of SEBI, he brought improved practices to India’s securities market. He was elected Chairman Emerging Markets Committee of IOSCO. He has been and continues to be Chairman of several government and RBI committees.
