The long-awaited Companies Act, 2013 has brought in significant changes to company law in India. Some changes such as the inclusion of corporate governance provisions in the Act have been generally applauded, while others such as mandatory Corporate Social Responsibility have largely evoked a negative response. This interface seeks to address the implications of the new law and the challenges companies will face by way of a closed-door, free-flowing, no-media, no-audience discussion among Company Secretaries.
